Sunday School Teachers Needed
With the new Sunday School year fast approaching, we are looking for a few teachers. Starting in September, we will be having a 7th-8th grade class and a high school class. The 7th-8th grade class will focus on the bible study portion of confirmation, but will not be led by Pastor. Teachers are needed for some of the younger classes as well. Training will be provided later in the summer. All those interested, please contact Juli Kaase or Crystal Hohlt, or leave a message with the church office.
Sunday School Opening

Younger Classes
Sunday School classes are available to everyone in the community, from pre-school through adulthood at 8:45 a.m. each Sunday. Our Sunday School Superintendent is Juli Kaase; the Assistant Superintendent is Crystal Hohlt.
Sunday School classes continue during the summer months; each Sunday focuses on a Bible story with related crafts, games and activities.

Rally Day and Blessing of the Backpacks
To kick off the
new Sunday School year, Rally Day will be held on Sunday, August 24th
at the church during the Sunday School hour starting at 8:45am. This is a great
time for adults and children of all ages to get involved in Sunday School. You
will be able to learn about the various adult bible study classes, and the kids
will be introduced to their teachers and classrooms. Children should bring their
school backpacks to be blessed during the 10:00am worship service.
Due to the heat, rally day WILL NOT be held at St. John’s Lutheran Retreat in
Bellville as it has been the past few years. However, a Church Fall Celebration
is being planned for Sunday, October 5th
at St. John’s Lutheran Retreat.
Here at Welcome Lutheran we are dedicated to educating our junior high youth in such a way that they are firmly grounded in the Lutheran tradition and committed to life long learning and service of Christ.
Attention Confirmation
Students and Parents!
The Confirmation Classes at Welcome Lutheran are about to begin again. Our first class will be on Wednesday, August 27, after school, from, 4:45—6:30 p.m., but our first gathering will be during the Sunday School hour on Rally Day, August 24. At that time we will be meeting together with your parents to review the guidelines and requirements for getting confirmed, as well as receiving any books that you do not yet have but you will need for the program. A letter will be going out in August to remind you all of these dates. Please mark your calendars, and be sure to attend this special session on Rally Day, August 24, at 8:45 a.m.
The adult class is currently studying a devotional series that is challenging and uplifting. The class is lead by Lyle Meier. In this class you explore the depth of your relationship with God and are able to share insights about the extremely moving presentations. Men's and a women's bible study groups are also meeting.

Vacation Bible School
is conducted each summer in connection with the
Industry United Methodist Church. It takes on many different themes and is well
attended by all. This partnership allows us to share our lives in Christ and
strengthen our bonds with our neighbors up the road.
The entire community is welcome and encouraged to share this learning experience with us!
